A permanent resident of Canada who has met certain requirements is eligible to apply for a Canadian Citizenship.
Requirements and Eligibility
- Be a Canadian permanent resident
- Have lived in Canada for 1095 days (3 years) in the past 5 years (there are certain exceptions to this)
- Be 18 years of age at the time of application, or 14 years if applying with an adult
- Have filed taxes for atleast 3 years in the past 5 years
- Pass a citizenship test
- Meet language requirements in English or French
A valid PR card is required to enter Canada. An application package is required to be submitted if your PR card is lost, stolen or damaged. In addition, an application package will also be required to renew the PR card.
