CEC is a pathway for temporary workers or students to offer them a pathway for permanent residence. This program is a great option for students who have work experience in Canada to apply for permanent residency.

Requirements and Eligibility

  • Minimum of 12 months of full-time Canadian work experience (or equivalent part-time)
  • Work experience must be in a skilled profession obtained on a valid work permit in Canada (e.g., manager, technical field, etc.)
  • Meet the minimum language requirements
  • Note: There is no minimum education requirement; to improve your ranking it is recommended to have post secondary education

FSW is a pathway for a foreign skilled worker to come to Canada and apply for permanent residence. FSW is the easiest and quickest option for skilled workers outside Canada to immigrate to Canada.

Requirements and Eligibility

  • Minimum of 12 months of continuous skilled full-time work experience (or equivalent part-time experience)
  • Experience must be paid work in the same job, obtained within last 10 years
  • Meet minimum language requirement of CLB 7
  • Minimum secondary education required; additional points for post secondary education

  • Heavy-duty equipment Mechanics.

  • Oil & Gas Well Drillers, servicers, testers & related workers.
  • Sheet Metal Workers.
  • Iron-workers.
  • Industrial Electricians.
  • Power System Electricians.
  • Gas Fitters.

  • Aircraft Mechanics & Inspectors.
  • Elevator constructors & mechanics.

Requirements and Eligibility

  • Have atleast 2 years of full-time work experience in the last five years in a skilled trade (or equivalent part-time)
  • Meet the minimum language requirements
  • Have a certificate of qualification in the skilled trade or a valid job offer of full-time employment for a total period of atleast 1 year

There are two programs under this category –

  • Home Child Care Provider Pilot
  • Home Support Worker Pilot

The caregiver pilot program provides a direct pathway for a foreign worker to permanent residence. In order to be eligible under this program, the foreign worker must have relevant education and/or work experience providing care to children or seniors. 

Requirements and Eligibility

  • Have atleast 2 years of full-time work experience as a caregiver in Canada in the last 3 years
  • Meet minimum language requirement of CLB 7
  • Have completed post-secondary education for atleast 1 year

There are various streams under the PNP that allow foreign workers to immigrate to Canada, based on occupations in demand or labour shortages. These programs are open to people who are working in different jobs already in the province or for people who are going to immigrate to the province
